Kettlebell Swing Teaching Tips: Excessive Lean Back

Hyperextending at the top of a swing puts unwanted pressure on the lumbar spine. By ensuring we stand tall at the top of each swing we ensure optimal alignment and recruitment of the core muscles.

Place your hand behind your client’s back so when they reach neutral they have a tactile cue of where to stop.

*Safety Tip: always clearly communicate with your client BEFORE placing your hand, so they’re prepared for the tactile cue.
